Alejandro
Mama prepared a meal of country fried chicken and rice before Pastor Brown arrived for supper. The reverend knew we were on welfare since 1992, but didn’t even mention us in prayer. Daddy had me poison Alejandro, the last of grandma’s chickens. We ate the rice, and later daddy lifted the pastor’s wallet.
